This week, my goal was to create a kinder-friendly presentation on how to use our iPads in the classroom during Daily 5. I wanted students to understand from start to finish what steps they need to take and what the expectations are. While giving the presentation my idea was to have students on the carpet listening; at the same time, myself or another teacher would be demonstrating the steps on the slides in real time. After the lesson, students would be given an opportunity to practice getting their materials out and logging onto myon.
After our discussion last week I tried to limit the number of words on each slide, and utilize images to get the message across instead. This presentation isn't as interactive as my last presentation, but I feel like it is far more interesting to look at and to understand for students.
Hi Amanda,
ReplyDeleteUsing the Slides presentation to show the steps to using technology is a great idea! I love how you kept each slide simple, and used bold colors, text and text bubbles. Its a nice way to take the whole class through the process.

I agree with Heather about the simplicity and the colors. Is that original artwork on the second slide?
ReplyDeleteIt may be a way to showcase student artwork for the class. I could also see you incorporating pictures of students in your class demonstrating the proper procedures for the tasks.
It was easy to see your presentation since you embedded it in the blog post!
I really enjoyed going through your presentation! It was fun to look at and I think it's perfect for the age of kids you're working with. Great job!
